Ohtani, why is this all of a sudden, 2G, no hits in 9 at-bats… The team also lost 1-10, ended with 5 wins in a row

Los Angeles Angels Ohtani Shohei (29) was silent for two consecutive games without a hit.

On the 7th (hereinafter Korean time), Ohtani started as the designated hitter in the home game against the Texas Rangers in the 2023 major league held at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA, and retired with no hits in 4 at bats.

Ohtani, who was blocked with no hits in 5 at-bats in the game against Texas the previous day (6th), returned to no hits in 9 at-bats in two games. His season batting average dropped from 2.95 to 2.8.6 (36 hits in 126 at-bats).

In the first at-bat against Texas right-hander starter Nathan Eboldi, Ohtani pushed a splitter that fell low in the 6th pitch after a full count match, but was caught with a floating ball by left fielder.

In the 4th inning as the lead batter, Eboldi hit a cutter on the inside of the first ball, but the ground ball out on second base.  메이저사이트

In the 6th inning, a large batted ball became a fly ball. Eboldi hit the cutter in the middle of his first ball and fired a large ball that went all the way to the fence, but swallowed regret as it was caught by the center fielder.

Even the last at-bat in the 8th inning could not cross Eboldi’s wall. He pulled a low cutter on the fourth pitch, but it ended up being a grounder on first base.

The Angels, whose batting line, including Ohtani, was silent, suffered a 1-10 loss to Texas. Texas Eboldi posted his 4th win (2 losses) of the season with 8 innings, 5 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts and no runs.

The Angels, who recently ended their five-game winning streak, are now 19-15. Texas, which broke its two-game losing streak, did not lose first place in the American League West with 19 wins and 13 losses.
